Housing Development - Homes for Sale

Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services is committed to its mission to revitalize and stabilize targeted neighborhoods by increasing homeownership opportunities both through new construction of homes on vacant land and the rehabilitation of existing deteriorated properties.  As a result, Springfield NHS has undertaken housing development on an aggressive scale by rehabilitating and building new homes at the rate of ten per year.  At least five of those homes will be located in the Old Hill Neighborhood of Springfield as part of the Old Hill Neighborhood Revitalization Project (Project).  The Project is a partnership effort that includes Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services, Habitat for Humanity & HAP, Inc.  The combined agencies will develop 100 new homes in Old Hill over the next several years.

The following properties are available for sale at this time:

Springfield NHS-owned homes for sale to income-eligible, first-time homebuyers:  121 Eastern Avenue, (SOLD) 124 Eastern Avenue, (SOLD) and 161 Eastern Avenue. (UNDER SALES CONTRACT).  Go to Old Hill Homes For Sale tab and see pictures.  127 Massachusetts Avenue, (UNDER SALES CONTRACT) in the Upper Hill.

There will be additional new construction and rehabilitated homes available in 2008 in Old Hill and other areas of Springfield!
