Foreclosure Prevention 

Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services provides counseling for homeowners who are facing foreclosure or who may be delinquent on their mortgage.  The foreclosure prevention counseling program is part of a national effort to preserve homeownership and to provide assistance via a HOTLINE number that is available at anytime, 24/7.  The partnership members include Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services, NeighborWorks® America NWOs and the Homeownership Preservation Foundation.

The counselor will discuss the options that may be possible to help you through your financial crisis and will actively seek some resolution, such as a loan modification, repayment plan or forbearance, or refinancing, depending upon the stage of delinquency.  The goal of this collaborative effort is to preserve homeownership if at all possible.
